Walk & Talk Support Groups:
Movement + Mindfulness + Real Connection
🌿 The Support You’ve Needed, Outside the Therapy Room
Hi, I’m Emily, a licensed therapist and founder of The Red Door. I created Walk & Talk Support Groups because I know how hard it is to care for your mental health when you're already stretched thin. I wanted to offer something that felt accessible, supportive, and grounded in both science and compassion, something I personally wished existed when I was burned out and just trying to keep going.
You weren’t meant to hold it all alone. And sometimes it helps to get support in a way that doesn’t feel like another thing to sit through or perform for.
These 30-minute walk & talk support groups give you a way to build support into your weekly rhythm—something steady, grounding, and easy to return to. It’s a space where you can clear your head, catch your breath, and reconnect to yourself, one small step at a time.
This isn’t therapy. It’s structured, therapist-facilitated support rooted in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and designed to help you move through life more intentionally, while literally moving your body.
💬 Why Walk & Talk?
These groups are held online via secure video, so each participant walks in their own neighborhood, nearby trail, or wherever feels safe and accessible. You’ll join by phone with your earbuds in, taking steps together from wherever you are.
If your mind never slows down, your shoulders rarely drop, and your calendar feels like a wall closing in, you’re not alone. Most of us are carrying too much, too quietly. By the time support feels urgent, it can feel too big to ask for.
These groups offer a small but powerful shift: a way to return to the basics, putting on your shoes, stepping outside, and taking care of your nervous system in real-time. It’s about building consistency with the support of others, knowing someone else will be walking too. That gentle accountability can be the difference between staying stuck and feeling just a little more grounded. You get fresh air, a gentle pace, and just enough support to move through what’s weighing on you.
It’s not about fixing everything. It’s about creating a small, weekly pocket of time where your nervous system can soften, your thoughts can settle, and your values can lead.

🔍 The Structure
Each 30-minute group is intentionally designed to help you reconnect with your body and values while sharing space with others who get it.
We move through three simple steps:
Discover → Grow → Integrate
Discover a core ACT principle and how it shows up in your life
Grow through movement, reflection, and optional sharing
Integrate what resonates into daily life with tangible takeaways
You don’t have to have the right words or worry about keeping a certain pace. This group meets you exactly where you are.
This group is for you if…
✔️You want support without the intensity of a full therapy session
✔️You need something simple, effective, and grounded in research, not just well-meaning advice
✔️You process better in motion than in stillness
✔️You crave connection but feel socially exhausted
Who is this for?
These groups are designed for people who feel emotionally overloaded, but keep pushing through. The ones who look high-functioning on the outside, but inside, they’re constantly bracing, overthinking, and battling decision fatigue. You may be balancing caregiving with work demands, trying to manage your own emotions while showing up for everyone else, or just craving a place where your overwhelm doesn’t have to be explained or hidden.

“This is the first time I’ve had something in my week that feels just for me, and still doable. I didn’t have to rearrange my life or dig deep to talk. Just showing up, walking, and hearing others helped me feel human again.”
*Participant
“I didn’t know how much I needed this until halfway through the first group. My brain finally slowed down. No small talk, no pressure—just gentle movement and quiet understanding. It made a big difference in how I handled the rest of my day.”
*Participant
“What surprised me most was how safe I felt without having to explain everything. I didn’t have to perform or be ‘on.’ I could just walk, breathe, and take something in that actually helped.”
