You don't need another place telling you to try harder at taking care of yourself.

ABOUT THE RED DOOR THERAPY & WELLNESS SOLUTIONS

The Red Door Therapy & Wellness Solutions was created for high-achieving, busy-brained women who are very good at functioning—even when the way they're functioning is quietly costing them.

Through individual therapy, focused Signature Groups, and practical Wellness Solutions, The Red Door offers different ways to understand the patterns keeping you stuck, practice something different, and build ways of caring for yourself that can actually survive real life.

Support for busy brains and full lives.

WHY THE RED DOOR

You can be incredibly capable and still need somewhere you don't have to hold everything together.

The Red Door was built around a simple observation: some of the people who look the most capable from the outside are carrying an enormous amount internally.

They're the dependable ones. The thoughtful ones. The people who anticipate what everyone else needs, keep the plates spinning, read the books, make the lists, and somehow continue getting things done.

They're also often exhausted.

And traditional advice to “set better boundaries,” “prioritize self-care,” or “manage stress” can become one more thing they're apparently supposed to be doing better.

The Red Door exists to offer something different: thoughtful, evidence-informed support that respects both the complexity of what you're carrying and the reality of the life you're carrying it in.

We aren't interested in helping you become better at tolerating an unsustainable life.

That's why The Red Door doesn't offer one prescribed path. We offer different levels and forms of support for different needs, seasons, and capacities.

Our work isn't about optimizing you into a more efficient version of yourself.

It's about helping you notice what your current ways of coping may be costing you—and creating enough flexibility to choose differently when it matters.

Sometimes that requires deeper therapeutic work. Sometimes it means practicing alongside other women who understand the pattern. Sometimes it means learning one useful skill, taking a walk at lunch, returning to a reflection prompt, or finding a five-minute way to reconnect with yourself in the middle of a demanding day.

THE RED DOOR APPROACH

Knowing isn't always the hard part.

Across The Red Door, our work is grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), psychological flexibility, and a belief that sustainable change is strengthened through consistency, connection, and community.

We've developed the Discover + Grow + Integrate™ Framework, the Five Precious Resources, and Pocket Wellness™ principles to help translate those ideas into practical ways of learning, practicing, and living differently.

You don't need to understand any of our frameworks before working with us. They're simply part of how we thoughtfully design support around the person—not just the problem.

MEET EMILY MACNIVEN, LPC

The therapist behind The Red Door.

The Red Door was founded by Emily MacNiven, LPC, a Colorado therapist who works with high-achieving, busy-brained women navigating anxiety, burnout, overthinking, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and the pressure of carrying a lot for a long time.

Her work blends evidence-based therapy with warmth, humor, practical application, and a healthy skepticism toward advice that sounds great on Instagram but falls apart by Wednesday afternoon.

You don't have to overhaul your life to start moving toward something different.

Whether you're looking for deeper therapeutic support, a structured group experience, or something small enough to fit between meetings, there's more than one way to access support through The Red Door.
