RED DOOR SIGNATURE GROUPS
Sometimes You Don't Need More Insight. You Need a Different Way to Work With What You Already Know.
You may already understand the pattern. You know you're overthinking. You know you need better boundaries. You know the way you talk to yourself isn't helping. You know burnout has taken more from your life than you want to admit.

You Already Know a Lot About Yourself.
Now Let's Practice Doing Something Different With What You Know.
You’ve read the books, listened to the podcasts, saved the posts, maybe even talked about these patterns in therapy. But understanding why you overthink, people-please, overfunction, or push through burnout doesn’t always make it easier to respond differently when real life is happening.
Red Door Signature Groups are structured, ACT-based psychoeducational and hybrid experiences designed to help you close the gap between knowing and doing, through practice, reflection, feedback, and adjustment over time.
You've read the books. Saved the posts. Listened to the podcasts.
Maybe you've been in therapy, journaled about the patterns, learned about boundaries, burnout, people-pleasing, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and overthinking. You may even be remarkably good at explaining why you do what you do. And then real life happens.
You're faced with a decision and suddenly you're analyzing every possible outcome.
You know you need to say no, but hear yourself saying yes anyway.
You finally have time to rest and immediately start wondering what you should be doing.
Your workday gets busy and every intention you had to take care of yourself disappears by 10:17 AM.
The problem isn't necessarily that you need more insight. Sometimes the missing piece is having a consistent place to practice, notice what happens, get feedback, adjust, and try again.
That's what Red Door Signature Groups were built for.
Which Red Door Experience Best Fits What You Need Right Now?
UNDERSTANDING THE FORMAT
Not Group Therapy. Not Just Another Class.
Red Door Signature Groups sit in the space between simply learning about something and having a structured place to actually practice it.
Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™ are therapist-facilitated psychoeducational groups.
That means we combine focused mental health education with structured reflection, experiential practice, discussion, and opportunities to learn from feedback—both your own and the perspectives of others.
The skills we practice are grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), an action-oriented approach that gives you a repeatable framework for the moments when knowing what you “should” do isn't enough.
ACT helps you notice what's happening, get less tangled in difficult thoughts and emotions, reconnect with what matters, and choose how you want to respond, even when uncertainty, guilt, anxiety, self-doubt, or discomfort are still along for the ride.
Unlike group therapy, the group itself is not psychotherapy. We aren't gathering to assess or treat each participant's individual mental health concerns or use the relationships and interactions within the group as the focus of clinical treatment.
And unlike a typical class or course, you aren't simply consuming information and then being sent off to figure out how to apply it on your own.
You learn something. You try something. You notice what happens. You reflect, receive feedback, adjust and try again. That's the Discover → Grow → Integrate™ process at work.
Find the Experience That Meets You Where You're Stuck
Start with the pattern that's taking up too much space in your life right now.
PERMISSION TO BE UNCERTAIN™
When Your Brain Won't Stop Trying to Figure It Out
You replay the conversation. Research the decision. Ask for reassurance. Run through every possible outcome. Make the choice and then start wondering whether you chose wrong.
Permission to Be Uncertain™ is a small, focused 12-session psychoeducational group for women who are exhausted by overthinking, second-guessing, certainty-seeking, and the pressure to get things right.
Practice moving toward what matters without requiring yourself to feel completely certain first.
12 consecutive scheduled sessions | Online | Maximum 7 participants
VOICE WITHOUT APOLOGY™
When You Know What You Want to Say—But Saying It Feels Like the Hard Part
You know you need the boundary. You know you're allowed to have needs. You know other people's feelings aren't entirely your responsibility. And yet you still find yourself saying yes, softening the message, overexplaining, avoiding the conversation, or replaying it afterward wondering whether you were too much.
Voice Without Apology™ is a small, focused 12-session psychoeducational group for women who are tired of abandoning their own voice to avoid guilt, conflict, disappointment, or someone else's discomfort.
Practice expressing what matters without needing everyone else to approve of how you do it.
12 consecutive scheduled sessions | Online | Maximum 7 participants
BEYOND PRODUCTIVITY™
When You've Become Incredibly Good at Functioning—but Miss Feeling Alive
You've spent years being responsible, capable, useful, productive, and needed.
But somewhere between getting everything done and taking care of everyone else, you may have lost touch with what you enjoy, what restores you, what makes you curious, or who you are when you're not accomplishing something.
Beyond Productivity™ is a small, focused 12-session psychoeducational group for women who want to reconnect with creativity, meaning, identity, rest, play, and intentional living beyond chronic striving.
Practice building a life that isn't measured only by how much you managed to get done.
12 consecutive scheduled sessions | Online | Maximum 7 participants
Want the practice but need more flexibility?
Lunch Break Reset™ — Hybrid Experience
When Everything You Know Helps Disappears the Minute the Workday Gets Busy

Lunch Break Reset™ brings Red Door's learning-and-practice approach directly into the workday.
This flexible hybrid guided experience + live Walk & Talk combines ACT-based learning, mindfulness, mindful eating, movement, reflection, and real-time practice in a structure designed to fit into a 30-minute lunch break.

MEET YOUR FACILITATOR
Hi, I'm Emily.
I'm Emily MacNiven, LPC, a therapist, educator, and founder of The Red Door Therapy & Wellness Solutions.
My work centers on high-achieving, busy-brained, people-pleasing women who often have plenty of insight into themselves but still find it incredibly difficult to access what they know when they're stressed, overwhelmed, uncertain, guilty, exhausted, or trying to keep everyone happy.
My background as both a therapist and an educator shapes the way I've designed Red Door Signature Groups.
I care about what helps people learn, not simply how much information I can give them.
That's why these experiences combine ACT with a repeatable learning cycle built around understanding, practice, reflection, feedback, and adjustment.
I won't expect you to master a concept because I explained it well once. We'll keep returning to the work in different contexts, learning from what happens, and figuring out what helps you move toward the life you actually want to be living.

HOW THE GROUPS WORK
A 12-Session Commitment Without Waiting for a New Cohort to Begin.
Because DGI is a continuous learning cycle rather than a linear curriculum, there isn't a Week One you have to catch. Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™ use continuous enrollment, which means you can join whenever a seat is available rather than waiting months for a new group to begin.
Once you enroll, your spot is reserved for 12 consecutive scheduled sessions. Over those 12 meetings, you'll encounter ACT concepts and skills through different topics, conversations, and real-life experiences while repeatedly using the same DGI process to:
Discover what matters, what's happening, and what's getting in the way.
Grow by choosing something realistic to practice and experimenting with a different way of responding.
Integrate by reflecting on what actually happened, gathering feedback, noticing what helped or got in the way, and deciding what you want to adjust for your next attempt.
Then you begin again.
-
The framework stays consistent. The material you bring it to keeps changing.
Each Signature Group has a consistent foundation of ACT-based resources and The Red Door's DGI reflection process. These core materials give everyone in the group a shared framework and a repeatable set of skills you can return to throughout your 12 sessions—and long after your participation ends.
Alongside that foundation, secondary materials may change throughout the year. Depending on the season and the focus of the group, we may incorporate different readings, reflection prompts, resources, conversations, or complementary material that helps us explore the group's central theme from a new angle.
So you aren't enrolling in a linear 12-lesson curriculum where everyone has to start on Lesson One and finish on Lesson Twelve.
You're learning a framework—and then practicing how to use that framework with real life.
That distinction is what makes continuous enrollment possible.
You may enter the group at a different point than someone else, and that's intentional. You begin with what's happening in your life right now and use the current material, ACT framework, DGI process, your own reflection, Emily's guidance, and the perspectives of other participants to learn from it.
And because your life changes, the application changes too.
The boundary that feels impossible today may not be the one you're navigating six months from now. The uncertainty hooking you this season may eventually give way to a completely different challenge. A familiar ACT skill can reveal something new when you're practicing it in a different context.
-
That's also why someone may choose to continue beyond their first 12 sessions. If the group remains useful, you can enroll for another 12-session cycle, depending on fit and availability. You'll continue working from the same foundational ACT and DGI framework while applying it to new material, new experiences, new feedback, and whatever your life is asking you to practice next.
WHY RED DOOR GROUPS?
Because You Don't Only Learn From What You Try. You learn from what you notice afterward.
This is one of the reasons Red Door experiences aren't designed as one-and-done workshops or passive psychoeducation. Learning something new matters. Practicing it matters. But so does having a way to ask:
What actually happened?
What did I notice?
Where did I get hooked?
What helped?
What got in the way?
What did I learn from someone else's experience that I hadn't considered?
What might I adjust the next time this happens?
In our focused psychoeducational groups, that feedback can come from your own structured reflection, guided feedback and perspective from Emily, and learning alongside a small community of women experimenting with the same skills in their own lives.
Sometimes another woman describes something, and you immediately recognize yourself. Sometimes she tries something you never would have considered. Sometimes you notice progress you would have dismissed because it wasn't perfect.
And sometimes an experiment goes spectacularly unlike what you intended. That's not automatically a failure. That's information. The goal isn't to grade your progress. It’s to learn from it.
THE RED DOOR APPROACH
Discover → Grow → Integrate™
A repeatable framework for turning what you understand into something you can actually use.
The Discover → Grow → Integrate™ Model bridges ACT, adult learning, and the teaching-and-learning process to create a continuous cycle of understanding, practice, reflection, feedback, and adjustment.
And unlike a linear curriculum where you have to complete Lesson One before you're allowed to understand Lesson Two, DGI begins with whatever is happening in your life right now.
Signature Groups offer structured practice + reflection + feedback that helps bridge knowing and doing, and a small group makes that learning richer.
-
What matters—and what's happening?
Reconnect with your values and your why. Notice your current needs and context. Identify the patterns and barriers getting between you and how you want to show up.
-
What could you try?
Choose a realistic, values-connected action. Learn and practice ACT-based skills that help you create enough flexibility to experiment with responding differently.
You aren't trying to execute it perfectly.
You're trying something intentionally enough to learn from it.
-
What happened—and what can you learn from it?
Reflect on what you intended to do and what actually happened. Gather feedback from your own experience and, when applicable, from Emily and the group. Notice what helped, what got in the way, and what you want to adjust.
Then take what you've learned into your next attempt.
Each attempt creates new information.
New information creates new discovery.
And the learning continues.
GROUNDED IN ACT
A Framework You Can Return to When Life Gets Messy
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy—ACT, like the verb—provides the psychological-flexibility framework underneath Red Door Signature Groups.
Rather than trying to eliminate difficult thoughts and feelings before you can move forward, ACT helps you practice noticing what's happening internally, getting less tangled in what your mind is telling you, making room for discomfort, reconnecting with what matters, and choosing how you want to respond.
Across Red Door experiences, you'll encounter ACT's core processes again and again—but applied to whatever is actually happening in your life.
Because the goal isn't to memorize ACT. It's to develop a framework you can use when your brain gets loud, life gets complicated, and the old pattern feels incredibly tempting.

FOR COLORADO EDUCATORS
Professional Development That Supports the Professional, Too.
All Red Door Signature Group experiences are eligible for Continuing Education Units (CEUs) for Colorado educators.
Because professional development doesn't always need to be about becoming more productive, learning another instructional strategy, or adding another responsibility to your already full plate.
Developing greater psychological flexibility, self-awareness, communication, values-connected decision-making, sustainable responses to stress, and intentional ways of showing up can support the professional by supporting the person doing the work.
CEU requirements vary according to the experience and required participation.

FAQs
-
No. Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™ are focused psychoeducational groups. They provide structured learning, reflection, experiential practice, and opportunities for feedback and connection. They are not a substitute for individual psychotherapy or crisis care. Lunch Break Reset™ is a hybrid guided learning and live Walk & Talk experience rather than group therapy.
-
Yes, when a seat is available. The groups use the Discover → Grow → Integrate™ framework as a continuous learning cycle rather than a linear curriculum that requires everyone to begin together. You'll start with the content being explored and the experiences happening in your own life at the time you join.
-
For Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™, you're committing to 12 consecutive scheduled group sessions at $45 per session, or $540 total. Your enrollment reserves one of seven spots in the group for those 12 sessions. Payment plans are available.
For Lunch Break Reset™, the commitment works differently. This is a flexible hybrid experience that includes the self-paced guided course plus 12 live therapist-guided Walk & Talk sessions. You can move through the course at your own pace—starting, pausing, and returning as needed—and use your 12 live Walk & Talks anytime within one year of purchase. You do not have to attend the live sessions to benefit from the course, but they're included to give you additional opportunities for guided practice, feedback, and connection as you work through the DGI process.
The structure is there to help you practice consistently—not give you another thing to do perfectly.
-
For Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™, your enrollment reserves one of seven seats for 12 consecutive scheduled sessions, so participant absences count toward your 12-session commitment. Planned Red Door closures and sessions canceled by Emily do not count toward your 12 sessions.
Lunch Break Reset™ works differently. Your 12 live Walk & Talk sessions are flexible and can be used anytime within one year of purchase. If you can't attend a particular Walk & Talk, you simply don't use one of your sessions—you can join another available session when it works for you. The guided course is also self-paced, so missing a live Walk & Talk won't put you “behind” or prevent you from continuing with the experience.
-
For Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™, yes. If continued practice and participation feel useful, you may have the option to enroll for another 12-session commitment, depending on fit and availability.
Lunch Break Reset™ works differently. Your purchase includes 12 live Walk & Talk sessions to use within one year, alongside ongoing access to the self-paced guided experience. Once you've used your 12 included Walk & Talks, you can choose to purchase additional live sessions if you'd like to continue using the Walk & Talks as part of your ongoing practice.
-
No. Participation and reflection are encouraged, but you won't be required to disclose personal information simply because you're in a group.
-
Yes. All four Signature Group experiences are CEU-eligible for Colorado educators. The individual offering pages should explain the participation and documentation requirements for each experience.
-
Absolutely. If you'd feel more comfortable meeting Emily before your first group, you're invited to attend a free optional Group Onboarding session.
Onboarding is a relaxed opportunity to meet Emily, learn how Red Door Signature Groups work, get familiar with the Discover → Grow → Integrate™ framework, ask questions, and understand what to expect when you join.
Because our psychoeducational groups use continuous enrollment, onboarding can also make joining an already-running group feel a little less like walking into the cafeteria halfway through lunch wondering where you're supposed to sit.
You may also meet other people who are preparing to join a Red Door group.
Group Onboarding is currently offered Sundays from 3:30–4:30 PM MST and is completely optional. You don't have to attend onboarding before participating. If you're ready to enroll and jump in, you can do that too.
If you're still deciding whether a particular group is right for you, you can also schedule a free consultation with Emily before enrolling.
-
Because this isn't designed as twelve independent classes you consume. It's a practice environment. The value comes from returning to the framework repeatedly, applying it to different situations in your life, noticing what happens, adjusting, and trying again.
-
For Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™, the 12 consecutive-session structure is intentional. These groups are designed around consistent practice, reflection, feedback, and adjustment—not simply completing 12 individual classes.
Meeting consistently gives you repeated opportunities to try something in real life, bring what happened back to the group, learn from your own reflection and the perspectives of others, adjust, and try again. It also helps create continuity within a small group where participants are learning alongside one another.
Because groups are capped at seven participants, your enrollment also reserves one of those seven seats specifically for you for 12 consecutive scheduled sessions. Allowing individual sessions to be spread across an extended period would mean holding a limited seat even during weeks when it isn't being used, making continuous enrollment difficult for everyone.
Lunch Break Reset™ is intentionally the flexible alternative. If your schedule makes 12 consecutive weekly meetings unrealistic, Lunch Break Reset includes 12 live Walk & Talks that can be used anytime within one year, alongside the self-paced guided experience.
The two structures are designed for different needs: Signature Groups prioritize continuity and consistent small-group practice; Lunch Break Reset prioritizes flexibility and workday integration.
-
Yes. Red Door Signature Groups run throughout the year, but there are planned breaks when groups do not meet, including holidays and scheduled Red Door closures.
These breaks do not count toward your 12-session commitment. Your 12 sessions are based on 12 scheduled group meetings, not necessarily 12 calendar weeks.
For example, if a holiday or planned break falls during your enrollment, your group simply pauses and your 12-session commitment resumes when meetings begin again. Likewise, if Emily needs to cancel a scheduled session, that meeting will not count toward your 12 sessions.
If you are unable to attend a regularly scheduled group meeting, however, that session does count because one of the group's seven seats has been reserved for you.
Lunch Break Reset™ works differently. Because the live Walk & Talks are flexible, you can use your 12 included sessions anytime within one year rather than following 12 consecutive scheduled meetings.
-
While all three can support learning and personal growth, they serve different purposes.
Group therapy is psychotherapy provided in a group setting. It is designed to assess and treat mental health concerns, and the therapeutic process itself—including participants’ emotions, experiences, relationships, and interactions within the group—may become part of the clinical work.
Psychoeducational groups combine structured mental health education with opportunities for reflection, discussion, skill-building, and experiential practice. Rather than functioning as group psychotherapy, the primary purpose is to help participants understand a specific topic or pattern and develop skills they can apply in their everyday lives.
That’s where Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™ fit. These are therapist-facilitated psychoeducational groups grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and The Red Door’s Discover → Grow → Integrate™ framework. Participants learn, practice, reflect, receive feedback, and learn from one another while applying the material to their own lives.
Classes and courses are primarily educational. They typically focus on teaching information or skills and may be self-paced, prerecorded, or instructor-led. They generally do not include the same ongoing small-group practice and facilitated feedback built into our psychoeducational groups.
Lunch Break Reset™ is a little different. It is a hybrid educational experience that combines self-paced guided learning and reflection with optional live therapist-guided Walk & Talks. It gives you opportunities to practice and receive support while maintaining considerably more flexibility than our 12-consecutive-session psychoeducational groups.
An easy way to think about it: group therapy focuses on therapy in a group; psychoeducational groups focus on learning, practicing, and integrating skills with a group; and courses focus primarily on learning information and skills.
Red Door Signature Groups are clearly identified by format so you know what kind of experience you’re enrolling in—and none of our psychoeducational groups or educational offerings are intended to replace individual psychotherapy when clinical treatment is needed.
-
For Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™, the investment is $45 per session for a 12-session commitment, or $540 total.
Your enrollment reserves one of seven spots in the group for 12 consecutive scheduled sessions. Payment plans are available, allowing you to spread the $540 investment across multiple payments while maintaining your full 12-session commitment.
Because your seat is reserved for you, missed participant sessions are not refunded or deducted from the total investment. Planned Red Door closures and sessions canceled by Emily do not count toward your 12 sessions.
Lunch Break Reset™ has its own pricing structure because it is a flexible hybrid experience rather than a 12-consecutive-session psychoeducational group. Your purchase includes the complete guided experience plus 12 live therapist-guided Walk & Talks to use within one year. Current pricing and available payment options are listed on the Lunch Break Reset™ page.
-
Because Red Door Signature Groups and Lunch Break Reset™ involve access to educational materials, facilitated experiences, and limited live participation, we do not offer a money-back guarantee or refunds based on participation, completion, or individual outcomes.
For Permission to Be Uncertain™, Voice Without Apology™, and Beyond Productivity™, your enrollment reserves one of only seven available seats for your full 12-session commitment. Missed sessions are not refundable or transferable.
For Lunch Break Reset™, your purchase provides access to the guided program materials as well as 12 live Walk & Talk sessions that can be used within one year. Because access to the program is provided upon enrollment, purchases are non-refundable.
We encourage you to review the program details carefully before enrolling. If you're unsure which Red Door experience is the best fit, you're welcome to schedule a consultation before making your purchase.
-
No. Red Door Signature Groups and Lunch Break Reset™ are virtual psychoeducational and educational experiences and are open to participants throughout the United States.
You do not need to be a Colorado educator—or an educator at all—to participate. Colorado educators may also be eligible to earn CEUs for participation.
Individual psychotherapy is different and is only available to clients located in states where Emily is authorized to provide psychotherapy.
